How You Can Make a Difference
Now more than ever, against a backdrop of ever increasing violence and corruption; we are called upon to find ways that will sustain our native indigenous communities personally, emotionally, and practically as a society into the future.
The Taurepam culture of the Guyana Highlands is in crucial need of some practical assistance to learn how to cope with the most drastic and overwhelming changes they've experienced in the past 1,000 years.
However do not mistake their practical challenges with 'poverty' for the Taurepam have much to offer our world. Their ancestral wisdom, we've discovered, is rich and profound and needs to be given voice.
In their simple life, in their ability to enjoy what they have, in their close family and interfamily connections, in their closely knit communities, in their close connection with nature, in their ability to resolve conflicts as a group and as a people, in their system of self-governance, in their hospitality to friend and visitor, the Taurepam have much to offer the rest of the world.
Your contribution is crucial to help us give voice and structure to these values and ways of viewing the world that have helped the Taurepam survive for thousands of years - nearly unchanged at the same time that we assist them in practical ways in adapting to the modern world.
It is with great respect, conviction, and heart that we ask for your donations of time, money, or expertice.
